An immobilizing fear is abounding in these days. Threats, ridicule, censorship, argument, and even greater personal risks than these appear commonplace. From a broader view, the global situation is fraught with the possibility of terrible events. So what should we do? What must we do? The Word of God instructs us to revere God and never to fear man. This is a tall order, an impossible one, in fact, if we are not being led by the Holy Spirit. Yet God has promised to give us the strength and the faith we need to be courageous in this generation. Who will stand for the Lord? Who will lift up the name of Jesus? Who will enter into a relationship with God so secure and profound that the projected fear of the world and the enemy can find no place in our hearts? We are promised supernatural peace even in the midst of the storm. Is that peace yours, or is it still something you haven’t grasped? Good news! That peace, the peace of God that passes all understanding, the peace that allows us to delight in the Lord, and the peace that stands firm against the tide of darkness, is available to you today, even now. Seek God with all your soul. Once we draw near to Him our perspective always changes.

And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. But rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.

Matthew 10:28
