Dostoevsky is often put on the short list of the best writers humanity has ever produced. My own ranking has him definitively taking the top spot for a variety of reasons that we will discuss tonight. What makes a good writer? What makes a great writer? What makes the best writer? These questions will for the basis of our discussion, and we will also discuss a brief biography of Dostoevsky and run through an overview of his most notable works.

Join us as we take a breather from the maelstrom of current events to go deeper into the critical insights about human nature that reading literary giants provides. Ultimately, the ideas that Dostoevsky grappled with – how we should approach our existence, what worldview provides the most comprehensive structure, and what constitutes our fundamental human nature – are the essential ideas still being loosely grasped at in our generation.

God bless,
